This article explains how to register an Apple TV with APlay, identify and rename it, and assign it to a device group in the joinamazing.com dashboard. It is intended for APlay users who manage one or more Apple TV devices.

Before You Begin

• Install the APlay app on the Apple TV.

• Connect the Apple TV to Wi-Fi.

• Confirm that you can sign in to the APlay app and your joinamazing.com dashboard with your APlay account.

Connect Your Apple TV to APlay

1. Open the APlay app on the Apple TV and sign in with your APlay account.

2. Allow Push Notifications when prompted

3. In the APlay app, go to Settings > Device.

4. Select Update Device.

5. Wait for the message “Device updated successfully.” This confirms that the Apple TV is registered with APlay.

Rename Your Device

1. Go to joinamazing.com, open your Queue, select the drop-down arrow beside your profile name, and choose Manage Devices. Your registered Apple TVs appear on this page.

2. Identify the Apple TV by comparing its IP address in Manage Devices with the address shown on the Apple TV under Settings > General > About or Settings > Network.

3. Select the pencil icon beside the device and enter a descriptive name, such as “Kindergarten Apple TV.”

Organize Your Devices

1. From the Manage Devices page, select Manage Device Groups.

2. Select + Create Group.

3. Enter a name for the group, and then select the check mark to save it.

4. Close the Manage Device Groups window.

5. In the Group column, select the appropriate group for each Apple TV.

If the Apple TV Does Not Appear

Make sure notifications are enabled under Apple TV Settings > General > Notifications > APlay.

If the device still does not appear, restart the Apple TV or reinstall the APlay app. When APlay requests notification permission, select Allow. Sign in again, return to Settings > Device, and select Update Device once more.

Expected Outcome

The sync is complete when the Apple TV displays “Device updated successfully” and appears under Manage Devices in your joinamazing.com dashboard. The device should also display the name and group you assigned.
